Konradius001: Added galactic average price to all commodities I had access to. Will add more.

Added lots so far. Still several unknowns

--LyricalDragon (talk) 22:11, 18 January 2015 (UTC)

Adding "Consumed by" and "Produced by" info based on Trader's Bible and new data in-game.

Note that some of the in-game data is incorrect, for example:

  • Marine Equipment is said to be consumed by "All except Agricultural" while it should say just "Agricultural" (they are the only economy type that has a demand for Marine Equipment)
  • Basic Medicines are said to be only produced by Industrial systems, but they are also produced by High Tech
  • Non-lethal Weapons and Reactive Armour are said to be consumed by all but I haven't seen a demand for them in High Tech systems (where they are usually produced)

As a matter of aesthetics, it would be nice to shorten the title for "Galactic Average Price" since it creates a wide heading and the numbers below use a small portion of the space it creates, leaving a lot of empty space in the column. Shortest would be "Gal. Avg." Could also do "Galactic Avg." or "Galactic Avg. (cr.)" or some other variation.

It would be nice to have upper and lower ranges of prices so that people can know what a good price is when they see a commodity, for example, knowing that 6,000 cr. is a good price to buy Progenitor Cells and 7,500 is a good price to sell it, but I don't have data for all commodities (I've just worked out the ranges for the most expensive ones). Another column showing the difference potential profit (between the two) would be good too. Most people can guess that you can't expect to make a good profit hauling biowaste, but there are many products that it isn't clear what the profit potential is.

I currently have price data for 93 stations in my database, in which I also track the economy of each station. When figuring out produced/consumed by, I'm cross referencing data from the game's descriptions with Trader's Bible and my market data.

Salvage is not a commodity

Consider moving Salvage to its own section, as it's not a part of the commodity market. --LyricalDragon (talk) 00:23, 19 January 2015 (UTC)

Should we move it to the bottom of the page as a separate section? Or should we make a separate page for salvage? --Superxpdude (talk) 18:02, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
I think it might be better in its own section since it's more closely related to missions and smuggling than commodity trading. --LyricalDragon (talk) 21:07, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
Alright, I'll move it to the bottom of the page for now. It'll get moved to either its own page or to a page regarding smuggling (once it gets created). --Superxpdude (talk) 21:17, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
