Shield generators are an internal module which can be fitted to an internal compartment on any ship. A Shield generator will provide an energy buffer which will absorb damage without compromising the ship's hull integrity. Ships equipped with a shield generator must have their shields broken before damage can be done to the hull or to any ship modules. Shortly after having it's shields broken, a shield generator will build up energy over a period of time to restore the shields.
